A Baby Giant

32 Weeks 4 days

Where do we begin….. John and I have had a very eventful week and it’s only Tuesday. It all started when I went for my normal check-up yesterday Aug 3rd at 9:30 am. I didn’t feel any different from any other day. My doctor went through her normal list of questions and let me know that my blood pressure and everything looked great. Then she asked me my concerns. I told her I was a little concerned because Kelby had not moved as much that morning as normal. I told my doctor that I had taken Benadryl the night before and thought maybe that was why she was not moving as much. Just to be safe the doctor hooked me up to the monitor for 20 minutes where I was in a room by myself. I felt Kelby moving around like she should be and when my doctor came in to check the monitor she noticed I was having contractions every 2 minutes. I was in SHOCK!!!!

I was sent to the hospital for observation where they gave me medicines to help slow down the contractions. While I was there we did an ultrasound. It showed that Kelby is weighing in at 6lbs and her growth development is at 86%. A normal baby at this time normally weighs between 3-4lbs. Our due date is still Sept 25th but the computer’s due date is Sept 3rd based on her development. We weren’t as shocked about her weight since John and I both were big babies but we were still pretty shocked. They admitted me into the hospital last night at 6pm. Kelby’s weight was the talk of the nurses station. The good news is that everything started to finally slow down last night and I have not dilated at all. I was sent home tonight. I have to start my weekly Doctor appointments on Monday. My doctor still wants Kelby to stay in the oven for another 2 weeks. After that she said she won’t stop anything.

We are 29 weeks this week....WOW, It’s flying by!!!! I went to the Doctor a week and a half ago and everything is going great. She is still growing like a weed!! Before I left my Doctor’s visit my Doctor said “well, it looks like she will be here in about 10-12 weeks” (keep in mind I was only 27 weeks then), and that’s when it hit me. Our little Kelby will be here before we know it. I will begin my bi-monthly Doctor visits on the 20th of this month.

Kelby is still as active as ever. It is so cool to feel her little elbows and feet move across my belly. She loves to move around in the late evening. Her Daddy keeps her a wake before bed by talking to her, but she loves it.

With summer being here it is getting very difficult dealing with the heat. When they say “your feet grow half a size when you’re pregnant”, they weren’t lying. My hands and feet are swelling soooo bad. Not to mention I am carrying an extra “26lbs” around these days. I only have another 9lbs to gain before I gain too much, according to my Doctor. Obviously I’m pregnant, but it is so funny to think that I have to be careful not to gain more than 10lbs in the next 2 months.

I had to post this picture of Sampson. Look at him sticking his tongue out at John :) HAHA

24 weeks!!!!

Everything is still going great! We did found out this week that the placenta has moved up and out of the way. The Dr also said that Kelby is a week ahead of the average growth schedule. I’m pretty sure she has my feet because they are huge.

I can’t believe we only have a little over 3 months…. CRAZY!!! It is going by so fast. Every day I am getting more and more anxious to meet her.

Here are some more baby and belly pictures. I will try not to be so lazy the next 16 weeks with my updates.

Almost 22 weeks…

We are now past the half-way mark and are on our way to the finish line. The only changes I have to report is the size of my belly and the fact that my belly button has officially vanished! I have now gained almost 15 lbs and less than 2 weeks until the 3rd trimester which will begin the 6th month. CRAZY!!!

John is able to get Kelby moving and kicking at night before bed by talking and singing to her. She loves to hear him talk. John has been so wonderful and I could not ask for a better husband… he is going to be such an awesome daddy!

19 Weeks

We are now getting ready to go into our 20th week this week which means we will be at the half way point! We had our monthly Dr appointment last Tuesday and we were told that I have to take it easy for the next few weeks because the plecenta is not moving up as quickly as it should be. The Dr said that this is completly normal for the 2nd trimester so not to worry. The positive outlook about it is that we get to see the specialist for a sonogram every 4 weeks to check on everything. I can't express what a joy and excitment it is to see how much our baby has grown since the last time we saw her. We will meet with the specialist again on the 22nd to see if there are any changes.

I have been feeling so much more movement this past week! I feel her a lot in the mornings and after leaving the gym. I think she really likes to do cardio, "I'm glad someone is enjoying it" :)

It's a Girl!

We are so excited we are having a little girl!!! We went to our appointment last Friday to check the development of “Baby Burrows” and everything so far is good. We were able to see a very clear picture to be convinced that she is a GIRL. I thought that I was feeling little kicks last week but after seeing her position of being upside down I figured out that the feeling is hiccups and punches.

We are going to name our blessed little baby girl “Kelby Lynn”. The grandmothers have began to buy the first of the baby girl outfits that are absolutely adorable! It is going to be so much fun shopping for a little girl!

Well, we are now 17 weeks and I am hoping to feel the baby soon! It has been so amazing to wake up every morning to a growing baby bump. We are still counting down the days to see if “Baby Burrows” is a boy or girl. Check out how round my tummy is beginning to get!
